I’m not really a fan of automation but I did want to mention IFTTT, a.k.a, If This Then That. Mainly because it’s such a cool tool when used for good not evil. Having said that, if you need to automate your social media marketing for your business, IFTTT could be your best friend.
What is IFTTT? Essentially it’s a web based service that “let’s you create powerful connections with one simple statement. Users create a “recipe” which is a combination if a trigger (If “this” happens”) which launches an action (then do “that”).
The “this” part of IFTTT is the “trigger” part of the recipe and can be used for things like: “If I am retweeted on Twitter…”, or “If someone tags me your my business on Facebook…”
The “that” part of IFTTT is the “action”. So in relation to the triggers above, the corresponding actions could be: “send me a text message” or “favourite the RT”. In the other example, the action could be: “follow them back”, or “like the Post”.
Find out more on how to help you social media automation with IFTTT here.
If your business is using social media and content marketing, having access to free royalty-free images is a necessity, especially if, like most businesses, are on a tight budget. You already should know that relevant, high quality images drive engagement through the roof on social media.
Compfight is a super cool tool that makes it super easy to find free royalty-free images for your social media strategy. It also has amazing search functionality. Use it like your image search engine, instead of Google images.
What Compfight does, is search the incredibly huge Flickr photo library and serves up only images with the appropriate Creative Commons license which will permit your company to use the high quality, high resolution image, for free!
They also make it easy to credit the source of the image, which is a must do in the world of content marketing. They provide users with a small piece of HTML code to use for the image credit.

What I love about Viraltag is the ability to schedule Pin’s on Pinterest. This is a huge time saver simply because our strategy involved Pinning in the evenings. Our social media managers schedule content for various client’s during the day, based on our tested best times to Pin on Pinterest approach.
This allows us to “drip” content strategically on Pinterest each night, or as per a client’s custom posting schedule. Before using this tool, my team would need to Pin, to Pinterest, in the evenings, according to the schedule (5-10 Pins). Huge time saver and the team is very happy.
So what about a tool to help you manage your Instagram marketing right? I have you covered. We all need a tool to help manage Instagram posts. Schedugram is the one we’ve been using recently. While its analytics aren’t as good as Iconosquare, formerly Statigram, it’s a very useful part of a businesses Instagram strategy.
Unlike other Instagram scheduling solutions, you don’t have to have your phone on you at the time something is scheduled, or muck around posting it yourself. ScheduGram takes care of that for you. It’s a seamless way to manage Instagram.
ScheduGram is for social media managers who need an easier way to manage Instagram for their clients and brands. Schedugram features web uploading, scheduling, and supports multiple accounts. Perfect.
There are many more social media management tools for business out there. This list represents a few I wanted to highlight, some of which we use daily at VPDM Digital Marketing, and others that we’re testing.
