Creating means to produce something new by using your talents and imagination. Whether you create exceptional content for customers or you create stories to set yourself free, the act of creating content curates change.
1. Turn sentences into stories.
Words are no longer just words. They lead to sentences. And sentences become stories which make you come alive.
Stories become feelings. Emotions. Ideas. Magic. Moments that lead to memories. And memories? You don’t need to be all alone in the moonlight to let your memories live again (bonus points if you know the play I’m quoting).
2. Say Good Riddance to Resistance
If you’re stuck with your story or ideas, outsourcing your content is smart. An outside perspective always helps to shake things up.
Creating content is doing less marketing. But with the added advantage of making more money.
3. Say Hello to Inspiration
When you publish quality content, you’re gearing yourself up to get more inspired. You’re experimenting with ideas.
Letting your ideas percolate leads to inspiration. Inspiration leads to innovation. Creating content allows the space for these two things.
4. Ideas give you squinzies.
Squinzies makes your business more human. It’s that moment right before you’re about to leap off the edge into a refreshing stream of water. The leap requires a bit of faith that you’re about to feel something amazing.
You might find a bit of friction during the in-between. The part of your brain that likes to keep things comfortable will tell you to stop (also known as the lizard brain). But you don’t need to listen to it. Be aware that it’s there. And fight through it to move on. You might scrape your knees during the leap. But you’re on your way to becoming more fearless.
5. Be Yourself
I recently uncovered ideas that are almost nine years old during a move. It’s funny how these “old” ideas are more prescient today more than ever.
When you create, you become more aligned with your vision. Your goals. Your purpose in this world.
You create to gain clarity. You create to find purpose. You create to make an impact in the world in a meaningful way that feels right.
The words I wrote are still me. As much as I’ve evolved over the years, I’m still aligned with some core beliefs.
Creating content and telling stories helps you become aligned with who you truly are as a human. There’s so much beauty in that.
